Warren County SchoolEducation is a high priority of Warren County citizens as witnessed by the newly constructed Warren County High School and Hickory Creek Elementary School .  Along with eight other elementary schools, one middle school, and four parochial schools, students in Warren County are offered educational opportunities found only in larger school systems.  Each school has "state of the art" computer labs, Internet connections, and distance learning capabilities.

Parental involvement is stressed at all schools.  Active Parent-Teacher organizations insure community involvement in the education process.  In addition, a strong business and education partnership provides an atmosphere where graduating students are prepared for the world of work.  All public schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  More information on Warren County Schools can be found at www.warrenschools.com.


Motlow State Community College Motlow State Community College , McMinnville Campus, offers both basic educational classes and career-oriented educational classes. Students can complete an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in General Studies or an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Technology at the McMinnville location. Motlow College maintains a close, positive working relationship with area business and industry by working side-by-side to provide training, facilities and guidance to employees, employers and managers throughout the area.

Tennessee Technology Center

The Tennessee Technology Center at McMinnville provides students with immediate job placement skills for the working world.  The mission of TTC-McMinnville is to respond to the economic need of the institution's service area with relevant workforce development and training programs that are technologically advanced and are inherently designed to contribute to the student's intellectual and social development.  Full-time programs are offered in Automotive Technology, Business Systems Technology, Computer Maintenance Technology, Computer Operations Technology, Industrial Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, Machine Tool Technology, Special Industry, Technology Foundations, Medical Office Assistant, Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology.  Part-time programs are offered and include such topics as FrontPage XP, PowerPoint XP, Windows XP, Cad I and Cad II.


Universities with a 100 mile radius include: Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville; Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro; David Lipscomb, Belmont College, Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt University, Nashville; and the University of the South, Sewanee.

The Tennessee State Department of Labor and Workforce Development www.state.tn.us/labor-wfd/ is available to assist in educating and training individuals with the skills they need to enter the workforce. Their goal is to bring together Tennessee workers and employers in a safe, profitable work place.   They do this through a wide range of programs offering everything from adult education programs to retraining opportunities for workers who have lost their jobs to professional job applicants seeking a career change.  Tennessee Career Centers and local Labor and Workforce Development offices are where employers and job seekers come together.   Employers can access job information, explore tax credits and have qualified job applicants referred to their companies.


Transportation Resources

Transportation-whether by land, air, or rail- is vital for the growth and development of any community.  Situated in the geographic center of Tennessee , Warren County provides easy access of interstate systems 24 & 40.  Crisscrossing the county are Tennessee Highways 8, 30, 55, 56, 108, and U.S. Highway 70S.  This system of modern arteries conveniently links McMinnville-Warren County with state metropolitan areas of Chattanooga , Knoxville , Nashville (capitol), and Memphis .

Manufacturers and businesses dependent on freight lines for shipping and receiving goods will be pleased to note Warren County offers several interstate common carriers.  Caney Fork and Western Railroad, a short line railroad, provides rail services which link with national carrier CSX Railway.  A fully staffed modern municipal airport services Warren County and the surrounding area.  Offering 5,300 feet of runway for both private and commercial use, the facility is located three miles northwest of McMinnville.  Additionally, Nashville International Airport , offering over 200 daily flights, is located 75 miles northwest of McMinnville-Warren County .

The 60 mile Caney Fork and Western Railroad starts in Tullahoma , connecting to the CSX with a small interchange yard.  The yard is located across from the point where Route 55 becomes a divided highway.  Trains see a good mix of freight cars due to the various industries along the line.


Medical Care Facilities
River Park Hospital

River Park Hospital provides our region with a new 127-bed facility offering the latest in technology, and is JCAHO accredited.  This hospital has over four hundred employees and a medical staff of over forty active physicians and additional specialty physicians.   River Park Hospital also provides to this community a diabetes center, rehabilitation center, occupational medicine, physical and respiratory therapy departments, family birth center, imaging & diagnostics, oncology, radiology, nephrology, neurology and gastroenterology services.  The medical staff, along with a variety of courtesy/consulting staff, work side by side in this new facility.  For addition information about River Park Hospital , visit their website at www.riverparkhospital.com.

Immediate emergency care is provided by the Warren County Emergency Ambulance Service, Warren County Rescue Squad and the River Park Emergency Service.  Mental health care needs are met through the Cheer Mental Health Center .  The Warren County Public Health Department provides medical services for residents with two nursing homes and eight home health care agencies offering readily available healthcare support in a family setting.
