WHAT IS THE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT BOARD?

The Industrial Development Board of McMinnville-Warren County (IDB) was chartered in June of 1986 for the purpose of actively recruiting industry, purchasing land for development, constructing and/or leasing industrial buildings, issuing bonds for industrial purposes, and to work with existing industry.

The IDB’s Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the organization as prescribed by the Board. He participates in the planning and implementation of an industrial recruitment and economic development program for McMinnville and Warren County. He also assists in the development and implementation of programs for existing industries and in encouraging their expansion. The IDB believes that our greatest strength in economic development is in our existing industry—hometown people who are already in business and live here. The IDB welcomes any existing industry to call or come by to discuss how we can help with your expansion plans or other areas such as training.

The IDB has office space within the Chamber of Commerce building in downtown McMinnville. The two organizations work closely together toward the common goal of improving the quality of life in McMinnville and Warren County. The IDB has ten members who make up its Board of Directors. Five are appointed by the City of McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen and five are appointed by the Warren County Commission.
